ABOUT SOULGASM HAWAIʻI

Founded in Honolulu by Lyanne Brooks in 2007, Soulgasm established the longest sustained monthly presence of any music and dance gathering in Hawaiʻi nightlife. From its early years, Soulgasm maintained monthly programming alongside special events, later expanding to two monthly residencies, including a long running afterhours residency. Its presence also extended beyond Honolulu through recurring gatherings and special presentations on the neighbor islands. Soulgasm continues today through recurring gatherings and special presentations in Hawaiʻi.

Throughout its history, Soulgasm has brought people from all walks of life together in Hawaiʻi through soulful dance music with House at its heart, alongside live music and vocals, dance, visual art, poetry and other forms of expression. Its presentations have featured local artists and brought world renowned artists across music and dance to Hawaiʻi, including singer songwriters, musicians, DJs, producers, record label owners, dance pioneers and poets, many with significant bodies of work and international reputations within their respective communities. Through this work, Soulgasm has become a recognized focal point for cultural exchange between Hawaiʻi and the global underground House music and dance community.

Artistically directed through The LB Vibe and held with aloha, Soulgasm welcomes longtime supporters and those experiencing the gathering for the first time.
