The 19th Anniversary Season Culminates

SOULGASM 19th Anniversary Celebration

Join us Saturday, November 21, for our 19th Anniversary Celebration and final nighttime gathering of 2026, making a special return to the big room at HB Social Club’s Crossroads.

Founded by Lyanne Brooks and first presented by Housing Project 360, Soulgasm grew from her vision for a lasting home for underground House music, House dance, culture and community in Hawaiʻi. Since 2007, its thoughtfully curated gatherings have introduced new audiences to House while bringing longtime House and dance music lovers together. Soulgasm received “Best Vibe” recognition early on from the late SuperCW in her annual Best Of, followed in later years by “Best Monthly Party” and “Best Party to Dance.”

Intentionally curated, Soulgasm has brought pioneering and internationally recognized DJs, producers, dancers, singer songwriters, musicians and artists to Hawaiʻi, alongside artists deeply respected within underground circles and emerging artists. Many made their Hawaiʻi debuts through Soulgasm, connecting with audiences here for the first time. Soulgasm also showcases talent from Hawaiʻi and within its own community. It has established a recognized place in the wider House world, attracting artists, House heads, dancers and music lovers from around the world, with many guest artists returning as part of our ʻohana.

For this milestone celebration, we’re excited to welcome our ʻohana, Takaya Nagase, back to Honolulu from New York! Those who have joined us during his previous visits have praised his musical depth, thoughtful selections, care for sound and ability to take the dance floor on a journey right through to the very end.

This time, we experience it all in the big room, with a wide open dance floor and great sound. Whether you’ve joined us over the years, are visiting from abroad or are coming for the first time, we welcome you to celebrate with us.

Takaya Nagase

Born in Japan and based in New York, Takaya Nagase is a DJ and producer deeply connected to the city’s music scene. As a member of JOY, a party created with friends from The Loft community, his role extended beyond DJing to setting up the sound system and shaping the night’s musical flow. He continues to perform in New York and internationally.

His monthly World Galaxy show on The Lot Radio connects soulful, spiritual and forward thinking music across styles, eras and places.

His production work includes Hapa with Eric Pecoraro, with releases on Japan’s InterSpecie Records, and Domo Domo with Yas Inoue. In 2023, Domo Domo released a rework of The Voltage Brothers’ “Happening In The Streets” on Louie Vega’s Vega Records, played by DJs around the world. He has also worked in A&R, production and remixing for Soundmen On Wax.
